Sling shot me into that black hole….

…known as homeschooling. :) This is my first day homeschooling my youngest daughter. The older one opted to stay at her high school. Can’t say I blame her…high school is an exciting time. The youngest was having problems with teachers, students, the work..you name it. It became increasingly apparent that the classes are too big for any child to get individual attention when they need it. Talking to the public school system here has been like trying to get an apple tree to grow oranges…it aint workin’!

So I got online and researched homeschooling laws for Texas. Turns out it’s all pretty simple. I located the appropriate curriculum and we are on our way. Now during the day for her P.E, we can do things together. woooooo more exercise for mommy! YIPPEE!

Wish me luck! :)

I would have loved to have homeschooled my daughter. She had lots of problems with the classes and students but I had to work full time being a single mom. I applaude you and hope it goes well for you and your daughter.

Good luck. I know what you mean about the public school system. My son is ADD, it gets very interesting with his school at times.

Thanks to you all! She did very well today. I know its going to be a challenge. We will have to schedule everything around my doing charts at home for doctors and her school work. Plus we have to take into consideration my 21 month old niece thats here everyday. We have our days planned out as well as possible,so I am hoping we can stick to it.

    Thanks for your support!

How old is your daughter? I’ve been debating Class sizes are aproaching 40 in my area and they come up with stupid ways to save money instead of fixing problems.
