Sleep deprivation
I am running on an empty tank this morning. The last time I went to the doctor he suggested I take 2 melatonin pills to try to get to sleep & stay that way. OMG….it’s not working. I had a little trouble getting to sleep at first last night, but that was hubby’s fault because he somehow thought the military channel would be a good thing at 10 pm! lol I finally tuned out the TV and fell asleep. BUT it wasn’t an hour later & I was awake again. Nothing i did made it any better. I changed pillows…I took the blanket off & used only the sheet…I flipped to the right side…then the left…to my stomach..NADA….every hour I was looking at the clock & GROANING! I’ve heard some really energetic people say “sleep is overrated”…pshhh let them try my sleep pattern for a night or two.
Today I am just a walking/talking zombie. lol

Does anyone have suggestions on sleeping better?
I find that my 30 min of stretching before going to bed helps me to both tune out of the TV and sleep better. No matter what I go to bed at the same time. Track my hours of sleep. Sleep alone in the guest-bedroom if I can’t sleep in our room (too hot, my daughter is too loud). Reading for a few minutes (no more than 15) helps me to relax as well. Not drinking anything after 6-7 pm (I go to bed between 8 and 9 pm) helps as well. Eating light dinner. Not stressing out over waking up in the middle of the night - just lie on my back, close my eyes and start relaxing from the tips of my toes onward… so boring I fall back asleep before I reach my waist usually).
Uhm, yes, lots of tricks for me, but I am with you - I need 7 hours of rest minimum!

LOL - your hubby and Rod are the same! Rod hearts the Military channel. Ok, how many count downs on machine guns, guns, weapons, best war, best airplanes can a man watch? Apparently all of them are exciting AND he taps me on the shoulder while I’m on buddyslim to look - sorry guns - they are all the same to me. I’m bad.
But I feel you on the sleep or lack of. I was suffering for about a year and lately. But I put a stop to all of it girl. Got me some earplugs and I just force myself to lay down at 11pm now.
Drinking coffee, will that help or make you more jittery?
I normally go to bed between 9 and 10. I have tried drinking coffee. It doesn’t do anything either way..not sleepy or jittery.
I would use ear plugs but I am afraid I wouldnt hear my daughter if she had a seizure.
Maybe that’s what my problem is…I worry alot. *sigh*
That’s true, see, I don’t know these things because I don’t have children.
It may be hon, maybe you are worried or too worried but what women isn’t right? I don’t blame you, you have lots going on.

I try to relax, tell my mind to stop thinking (I focus on something stupid like a tree blowing in the wind), and if I can’t fall asleep I get up and read something boring then I fall right asleep. Try it!
